To top it off, Bermuda is a safe destination. But, it’s also a luxury destination, and therefore very expensive. In fact, it can be more expensive than most of the Caribbean islands, including the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos.

    Is Bermuda safe to visit?

Bermuda is a very safe place to visit. It’s one of the safest island locations of any in the nearby Caribbean. This is alongside Grand Cayman, Turks and Caicos, and St John USVI. Deemed Level 1: Exercise Normal Precautions according to the US Department of State.

As with any place, travelers should still exercise general caution – like avoiding walking around alone after dark or visiting isolated locations on the island, including beaches and alleys. Of course, you also shouldn’t swim alone or at night either – not that sharks are usually much of a problem!

    Is Bermuda a luxury destination?

Bermuda is typically considered more of a luxury vacation seeing it’s more expensive than most other island vacations nearby, including those in the Caribbean like Aruba and Turks and Caicos.

It’s also a relatively small island so there are fewer options that contribute to its higher prices. In my opinion, Bermuda isn’t your typical vacation destination, so you aren’t likely to find many vacation deals when planning a trip. That is unless you plan to travel during Bermuda’s rainy season.

You might be able to manage Bermuda on a budget, particularly during rainy season, since there are plenty of lodging options. Regardless, you will likely pay more for food and activities compared to other locations. It hangs at the top of the list of most expensive islands next to St Lucia, Grand Cayman, and Anguilla.

When is the best time to visit Bermuda?

The best time to visit Bermuda depends on your preferences. The prime time to visit Bermuda is May through October. Keep in mind that Bermuda’s rainy season doesn’t align with the Caribbean hurricane season.

So, if you’re searching for an island vacation without the threat of hurricanes, Bermuda is a great option! From May to October the air is dry and ocean temperatures are warm – usually in the upper 70s, making your dips in the ocean comfortable.

On the downside, you’ll also run into more tourists during this time of year. If you want to avoid some crowds, try visiting in March through April. While this is the high season in the Caribbean, it’s the low season in Bermuda. You might even be able to find some deals on hotels during this time. And, the temperatures are usually warm enough to allow for a great time at the beach.
