About Turks and Caicos

Compromised of eight main inhabited islands and numerous smaller cays, each holds its unique charm. Providenciales, commonly called “Provo,” is the most populous and famous for its stunning Grace Bay Beach.

This was the first place I visited in Turks and Caicos – it was pretty easy to see why it’s called the island of luxury. It’s one of the most expensive islands in the Caribbean.

Grand Turk, the capital, boasts historical sites like the colonial-era Turks and Caicos National Museum. It’s also home to the Grand Turk Wall – one of my favorite snorkeling spots in the Caribbean. It’s a sight to see.

The island of Middle Caicos showcases the impressive Mudjin Harbour and the largest cave system in the Caribbean. Conch Bar Caves – while I haven’t been here yet, it’s high on my priority list to explore it one day!

North Caicos, often called the “Garden Island,” is renowned for its lush vegetation and diverse birdlife. There’s also the less-developed South Caicos, West Caicos, Salt Cay, and Pine Cay.

Getting to Turks and Caicos

Firstly, you’ll need a valid passport, so make sure to double-check it’s up to date before you head off. Next, fly into Providenciales International Airport (PLS), which is the main airport in the Turks and Caicos.

Delta, United, and JetBlue offer direct flights from major cities in the US, so finding a flight is easy.

Once you land, you’ll need to clear customs. Lastly, grab a taxi (there are no Ubers), shuttle, or car rental from the airport and begin your island adventure!
